Day 1, Monday
Cape Town / Oudtshoorn
Early departure along Route 62 to Oudtshoorn to visit an Ostrich Ranch and an opportunity to side an ostrich. In the afternoon visit the Cango Caves one of the worlds great natural wonders. Lunch included at the Ostrich Ranch. Overnight: Hlangana Lodge or similar (L)
Day 2, Tuesday
Oudtshoorn via George / Knysna
Travel to George which is the sixth oldest town in South Africa and continue through the lakes and lagoons to Knysna. This picturesque town is also known as the Jewel of the Garden Route. You meet your guide again and join a tour to the Featherbed Nature Reserve which includes a ferry ride on the lagoon, a tractor drawn trailer ride to the top of the reserve, a guided nature walk and lunch. Overnight: The Knysna Log Inn or similar (B,L)
Day 3, Wednesday
Garden Route
After breakfast travel to the upmarket holiday town of Plettenberg Bay which is home to the rare Knysna forest elephant, delicate ecosystems and a bay large enough for the whales to calve and protect their young. Here we visit Monkeyland, the worlds first free roaming primate sanctuary for a walking safari. Visit Keurbooms River mouth for an eco-river cruise. The experience includes a picnic lunch on the tranquil waters. Return to Knysna where the remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight: The Knysna Log Inn or similar (B,L)

Day 4, Thursday
Knysna / Port Elizabeth
Travel to the Tsitsikamma National Park. The park is internationally known for its forests. Here you join a guided tour by tractor drawn wagon or Land Rover through the breathtaking and tranquil forests of the Garden Route. Lunch is included. Continue to Port Elizabeth known as the Friendly City, set along the beautiful shores of Algoa Bay. (B,L)
