Classic Northern Circuit 7 days

Saturday depatures
Day 1
Arrive into Arusha airport and transfer to Arusha Hotel for your overnight stay. Over night: Arusha Hotel or similar.

Day 2
Arusha / Lake Manyara
This afternoon at 14H00 depart from Arusha and cross the Great Rift valley to Lake Manyara National Park. The park is well known for its tree-climbing lions. Overnight: Manyara Serena (D)

Day 3
Lake Manyara / Serengeti
Morning game drive around Lake Manyara, look out for hippo, flamingo, elephant and giraffe. After lunch travel West to the Serengeti Plains stopping along the way to view the magnificent scenery . Overnight: Serengeti Serena Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 4
Serengeti
Morning and afternoon game viewing in the Serengeti home to wildebeest, Thomson’s gazelle, zebra, giraffe, eland, topi. The predators are also well represented by lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena. Overnight: Serengeti Serena lodge (B,L,D)

Day 5
Serengeti / Ngorongoro Crater
Morning game drive in the Serengeti. After lunch drive to the Ngorongoro crater stopping to see the Archaelogical museum at Olduvai Gorge. This evening relax in the comfort of your lodge on the edge of the crater. Overnight: Ngorongoro Serena lodge (B,L,D)


Day 6
Ngorongoro Crater
A half-day game viewing in Ngorongoro Crater with picnic lunch included. Lions, rhino and elephant are commonly seen. The wonderfull variety of wildlife and stunning landscape make this one of nature’s most unforgettable spectacles. Remainder of the day is at leisure at the lodge. Overnight: Ngorongoro Serena lodge (B,L,D) (Note in high season it maybe necessary to continue to Manyara for overnight).

Day 7
Ngorongoro / Arusha
After breakfast return to Arusha where the safari ends. Onward transfers to the airport or hotels outside of Arusha are additional cost (B)

Day 1
Arrive into Arusha airport and transfer to Arusha Impala Hotel for your overnight stay. Over night: Impala Hotel or similar

Day 2
Arusha / Tarangire
Depart 14H00 from Arusha Impala hotel and travel to Tarangire. In the evening walk with a Masai guidealong the shores of Lake Manyara. Overnight: Maramboi Luxury tented lodge. (D)

Day 3
Tarangire / Ngorongoro
This morning game viewing in the Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch. The park gets its name from the river that threads its way through the length of the reserve. Much of the area has an unusual landscape, dotted with baobab trees giving the landscape a pre-historic look. The reserve is home to wildebeest, zebra, eland, elephant, hartebeest, buffalo and oryx. You may also see lion, leopard and other predators. The Reserve is home to 550 varieties of bird. After lunch drive across the Great Rift valley to the lower slopes of Ngorongoro. Overnight: Ngorongoro Farm house (B,L,D)

Day 4
Ngorongoro
Morning game drive around Lake Manyara National Park. Look out for the famous tree-climbing lions as well as hippo, elephant and giraffe. After lunch at lodge spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing or partake in optional extra such as mountain biking, guided nature walk or visit a Masai village. Overnight: Ngorongoro Farm house (B,L,D)



Day 5
Ngorongoro / Serengeti
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game viewing with picnic lunch. The wonderfull variety of wildlife and stunning landscape make this one of nature’s most unforgettable spectacles. Afterwards, continue to Serengeti National Park. Overnight: Serengeti Sopa lodge (B,L,D)

Day 6
Serengeti
Morning and afternoon game viewing in the Serengeti. Look out for leopard along the riverine forest or the vast herds of wilderbeest and zebra out on the plains. Overnight: Serengeti Sopa lodge (B,L,D)

Day 7
Serengeti / Arusha
Morning drive back to Arusha where the safari ends. Onward transfers to the airport or hotels outside of Arusha are additional cost (B)

Manyara / Arusha

LUXURY FLY-IN SAFARI
Day 1 & 2
Arusha / Lake Manyara Tree Lodge
On arrival at Arusha Airport you are met and assisted in boarding your scheduled flight to Manyara Airstrip. You are met and transferred to Lake Manyara Tree Lodge where you spend the next two nights. The transfer to the lodge includes a game drive. Accommodation is in a stilted tree house nestled in the boughs of mahogany trees with en-suite faculties. Activities include guided nature walks in the forest and along the river escorted by Masai askaris. Game drives and birding walks also included. Overnight: Lake Manyara Tree Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 3, 4, 5
Lake Manyara / Serengeti
Early breakfast and game drive prior to your transfer to Manyara Airstrip where you board your flight to Grumeti Airstrip. Transfer to the lodge. Accommodation is in a lavish tent with private facilities and outdoor shower.
Activities include game drives in the Serengeti National Park. Day trips to Lake Victoria are available at an additional cost. Overnight: Grumeti River Camp (B,L,D)

Day 6 & 7
Serengeti / Ngorongoro
Early morning game drive and breakfast before your transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Manyara Airstrip. You are met and transferred to Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. This transfer takes about 2 hours. Accommodation is provided in a sumptuous double suite with en suite facilities. Each Suite is attended by a butler. Activities include game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater. Overnight: Ngorongoro Crater Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 8
Ngorongoro / Arusha
After breakfast transfer to Manyara airstrip for your flight to Arusha Airport where the safari ends. (B)

Day 2
Base Hotel / Mandara Hut
The start of the climb! You will hike for about 3-4 hours through some rainforest to your first stop at Mandara Hut (9000 ft). Overnight: Mandara Hut (B,L,D)

Day 3
Mandara / Horombo Hut
Leaving the forest area you trek along a good path through open grassy moorlands to reach Horombo Hut (12 000). Overnight: Horombo Hut (B,L,D)

Day 4
Horombo / Kibo
Continue with the ascent past the “Last Water” point to reach The Saddle, a dry area between the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. Overnight: Kibo Hut (B,L,D) (15,000 ft)

Day 5
Kibo / Summit / Horombo
A very early start for the walk up the steep and heavy scree to reach Gillman’s Point (18,640 ft) in time for sunrise. From here it is possible to continue to Uhuru Peak (19,340 ft), the highest peak in Africa. Thereafter, descend to Horombo Hut. Overnight: Horombo Hut (B,L,D)

Day 6
Horombo / Base Hotel
Descend to the park gate from where you are transferred to your base hotel for a well-deserved rest and debriefing. Overnight: Springland Hotel or similar (B,L)

Day 7
Base Hotel
Breakfast at the hotel (B)
